Legal Consulting Website & Booking System

A legal consulting website with content management, lawyer profiles and consultation booking. Built with Go and PostgreSQL; development is complete and production deployment is pending.

Project overview

What they wanted
A website to publish legal content, present lawyers and take consultation requests, with an admin area the client's staff can run themselves.

My role & contributions

Proposed solution
One Go binary that serves the public site, the admin CMS and the API, with templates and migrations embedded, so the server needs only the binary and PostgreSQL.

Challenges & solutions

  1. Challenges

    Designing personal-data workflows for access, export, correction and consent withdrawal. Booking intake remains disabled until the consent notice is approved.

    Key decisions

    Rewrote the first Node (Payload + Next.js) version in Go to fit a small VPS: the rehearsal peaked at 219 MB for app + database, inside a 512 MB budget. Double bookings are prevented by a database constraint, not only by application code.

    Outcome

    Development scope completed, with 68/68 deployment rehearsal checks passing. Awaiting final branding, domain and content before go-live.
