Project overview

What they wanted
A Vietnamese wedding-invitation service: an attractive wedding page, a personal invitation link for each guest, and printed cards, with free and paid templates.

My role & contributions

Proposed solution
A Go backend with a plain JavaScript frontend: wedding pages, guest invitations with short links and QR codes, RSVP and guestbook, a VietQR gift box, a printed-card designer and an owner dashboard for revenue and views.

Challenges & solutions

  1. Challenges

    Making many themes look good on both phone and desktop, including traditional Vietnamese details (both families, separate invitations for the bride's and groom's sides).

    Key decisions

    No frontend framework and a small Go server to keep hosting cheap; 74 themes built from 6 layout styles plus colour sets instead of 74 separate pages; short links work with or without Branch.io.

    Outcome

    Feature-complete with automated tests on the server; ready to go live.
